BistroMD Diet

BistroMD, which was started in 2005 by Dr. Caroline Cederquist, an MD specializing in weight management, is a plan that does everything for you. All you need to do is choose a delivery plan, and the food will come to your home.

Basic Ideas

BistroMD provides gourmet food, which tastes good, and is balanced to make you lose weight. The point here is that you don’t have to eat something you cannot enjoy in order to take care of your weight problem.

The program begins with a personalized diet plan, created to suit the needs of the client. Afterwards, the client chooses a weight loss plan – then all he needs to do is order, which can be done both online and by phone. Unlike some diet plans, BistroMD provide food that amounts to 1,100-1,400 calories a day, which is a very reasonable amount. Due to this you are unlikely to feel hungry at any phase of the program.

By simply eating the food provided by BistroMD you will supposedly a small-enough amount of calories, while maintaining a balance of nutrition. This should theoretically make you lose anywhere from 1 to 3 pounds a day.

Special sections are available for specific women’s and seniors’ needs, and dieticians are available for consultations either online or by phone.

Exercise Component

Although there is no fitness component to go with this diet, exercise is recommended as a given.

Food

The meals provided by BistroMD are designed by doctors, freshly-prepared, and come by FedEx in controlled portions. They are formulated in a way that will lessen blood cholesterol levels, improve your heart and metabolism, and, consequently make you lose weight.

The menus are rotated every week, can be customized, and primarily contain lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. The quality of the food is great, which begs the question – how much does it all cost? Well, this is where it gets problematic: the cheapest plans are around $130 a week, which is exponentially more than the average person spends on food.

Practicality

The BistroMD site is very self-explanatory. It walks you through the few necessary steps to choose a plan and meals. Membership allows you to further customize the offerings. There is no regular grocery shopping, recipes to read or meals to cook. You do not have to count calories/carbs/points.

While meals are on auto-renewal until you decide you do not want them anymore, you are not locked into a one-month, three-month or six-month membership.
