Garlic reduces the risk of developing lung cancer

We all know that garlic is a great flu repellent and it helps to prevent and treat cold. However, scientists from China have made a research and found out that garlic can reduce the risk of developing lung cancer. The research took 7 years and they have been investigating almost 1500 people who have lung cancer and 4500 healthy people. It has been found that people eating garlic at least twice a week have reduced the chance to develop cancer by 44%. The most striking point of the investigation is that even people who smoke can reduce the risk of developing lung cancer by 30%.

Doctors believe that garlic affects several aspects of cancer development. It prevents exposure to carcinogens, restores damaged genes that can lead to cancer, slows down proliferation of malignant cancer cells or even turns on their self-destruct mechanism.

Here are some advices by Chinese scientists:

  1. Eat garlic twice a week.
  2. Smash 2-4 cloves of garlic and spread them on your dishes when they are already cooked.
  3. Always add some garlic to your salad.
  4. Smash some garlic and wait 10-20 minutes before eating it.
  5. Do not overdo.

Other great products to reduce the risk of developing lung cancer are broccoli and cabbages.
