Himalayan salt and its rejuvenating properties

Himalayan salt is suitable not only for cooking but it also treats various diseases. Salt extracted in Himalayan foothills is considered to be the cleanest and healthiest salt all over the world. However, just like other types of salt it has to be used in moderation. Himalayan salt can replace traditional salt, but you should not start using more of it. An adult should get 5 grams of salt during the day, if you are over 65 years old or if you have problems with your heart or blood pressure you should reduce it to 2-3 grams per day.

Himalayan salt has formed 400-500 years ago when old seas have dried. For million years salt was stored on the layer of molten rocks. Therefore, this mineral is not contaminated and much more useful for human being. Himalayan salt contains more than 80 minerals. It is rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, barium and other important minerals. Compared to other salts, Himalayan salt contains much less sodium. It regulates blood pressure, sugar level in the blood, it has positive effect on your digestive tract, respiratory system, it strengthens blood vessels, heart muscles and bones.

Himalayan salt can be used not only for cooking. This salt can be used for sinus rinse, to wash your eyes if they dry out, to make inhalations and cleansing baths.
