Is sugar useful or not? There was a time when sugar was called “white death”. Nowadays, researches reveal that small amounts of it can be useful. So sugar has both pluses and minuses.

Sugar is bad for your teeth because in creates bacteria in the mouth and destroys tooth enamel, leading to increased risk of caries.

Large amounts of sugar promotes accumulation of fat in your body.

Pros:

Sugar gives us a feeling of happiness. If you feel sad, it is enough to eat something sweet and our body produces insulin, which stimulates production of serotonin – a hormone of happiness.

Sugar gives you energy. Once in the body it is converted into glucose, which supplies us with energy.
