How to avoid mosquitoes?

You can hardly find a person who likes mosquitoes. Their bites cause unpleasant itching, which irritates and may even infect the skin. In addition, there are such species of mosquitoes that distribute deadly
diseases such as malaria, so they should definitely be avoided. In order to avoid these troubles, you should follow our recommendations on how to win a fight against these annoying insects.

• Use protection against mosquitoes. Diethyl-toluamide (DEET) is a key in a fight against mosquitoes or other insects. However, this substance may irritate your skin and initiate allergy because diethyl – toluamide is poisonous. To avoid this unexpected reaction, try this spray on your hand and only after noticing no problem, you can safely apply it to your entire body.

• Use permethrin. This is a solution to kill these insects. This substance can be used on clothing, socks, shoes, sleeping bags or other body materials. It also protects against flies and other insects, so don’t forget it when going camping. However, never use it on your skin.

• Wear light-colored clothing. Mosquitoes are attracted to the color of clothing just like to nectar. So, avoid wearing dark colors, bright clothing or the one which has natural motives printed. Wear light-colored clothing and don’t forget to cover as much skin as possible.

• Try to use no fragrances when you are outdoors. Mosquitoes are attracted to different scents. When you are outdoors, avoid heavy perfumes, cosmetics and lotions as well. Besides, don’t use fragrant
soaps and shampoos.

• Pay attention to weather and time of day when you are outdoors. Mosquitoes are the most active early in the evening and early in the morning. Besides, their attacks are the most aggressive in the middle of the summer when the weather is hot and stuffy.

• If you are allergic to mosquitoes, avoid water because it is the ideal place to meet them.

• Take vitamin B and eat garlic. This will help to avoid mosquitoes because these two substances produce an unpleasant odor.
