So should we drink coffee or not?

The first thought that comes to mind in the morning for many of us is a cup of coffee. Others may not be so accustomed to this drink, but still occasionally enjoy it. Coffee contains caffeine, which elevates mood, wakes up and gives strength. If you want to decide whether coffee is good for you, you should first find out things about caffeine.

Lack of caffeine

Many of the positive and negative effects of coffee are associated with caffeine. If we use it constantly, the body gets used to caffeine, so sudden cessation of coffee can cause unpleasant reactions – anxiety, fatigue and even nausea.

Coffee and Health

Coffee has both positive and negative impact on our health. In particular, caffeine reduces bone density and prevents the absorption of calcium which can lead to osteoporosis. However, researches show that men who drink 6 or more cups of coffee per day, significantly reduce the risk of developing prostate cancer. What’s more, coffee can be an excellent preventive measure against type II diabetes, Parkinson’s and liver diseases.

But at the same time it can have a negative impact on cardiovascular diseases. Those who have blood pressure problems should not drink coffee.

Therefore, before deciding whether or not to stop drinking coffee, it is necessary to consult with your doctor. He or she will be able to give advice in regard to your medical history and physical condition. Coffee can be both an enemy and a friend, so be responsible if you drink it!
