Top 5 diet myths

Myth 1. If you have a properly balanced diet, you don’t need to work out. Good nutrition still does not make your muscles firmer, it does not train your cardio vascular and respiratory systems and does not teach you how to move. It only provides body with energy and helps to regulate the amount of calories. So you have to combine your diet and sports.

Myth 2. Popular diets help to lose weight long term. Popular diets usually work short term. You have to change your lifestyle in order to have long term effects. Unfortunately, popular diets are usually drastic and do not teach you how to eat.

Myth 3. Some people cannot lose weight due to genetics. That is true, to certain genetic characteristics, such as hormonal disorders. However, it doesn’t mean they cannot lose weight at all. The results are more modest and they require more efforts.

Myth 4. Carbs free diet helps to lose weight. It does, but only temporarily because we need carbohydrates. Human being needs all components found in nature – carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. It is not possible to give up any of them.

Myth 5. If you stop eating a 6 p.m. you will not gain weight. It is actually recommended to stop eating 2-3 hours before going to sleep so you would have time to digest all the food. If you go to bed early, not eating after 6 might be good for you. However, if you normally go to bed at midnight you will feel hungry.
