4 tips to relieve joint pain

When the weather gets cold, more and more people start to complain about joint pain. Changes in weather especially affect older people (45-65 years old). However, younger people should be carefull too.

So here are some tips to facilitate joint pain:

1. Adjust your diet. Avoid heavy and fatty foods. Reduce the amount of meat and increase the amount of fish. Salmon, mackerel or herring are great choices as they contain substances that inhibit inflammation and pain. When the weather changes, eat more whole grain products, ginger, fruits and vegetables.

2. Increase your intake of vitamins and supplements. If you have sensitive joints, make sure you get enough of vitamin C, E and B group vitamins. It is also necessary get glucosamine which promotes joint recovery. Glucosamine is found in animal joints, especially crabs, lobsters, and shrimps.

3. Watch out for common cold. Make sure you keep your legs and hands warm when the weather gets colder. Wear warm socks and gloves.

4. Exercise regularly. If you have low physical activity, your joints are less supplied with blood. With time it can even develop to osteoporosis, a systemic bone disease. Make sure you exercise daily for at least 10-15 minutes.
