How to make your food healthier?

Do you want your food to be delicious and healthy at the same time? Then cook using these tips.

Less salt. Try to add as little as possible salt to your food. However, you should not reduce it completely. Salt reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, removing excess fluids from your body.

More spices. Salt may be replaced by natural spices: cardamom, cinnamon, oregano, etc. They not only provide your food a special flavor, but also improve digestion.

Say “No” to fried food. Food can be boiled, stewed, steamed, baked in the oven, but not fried. It’s much healthier this was and you will consume much less fat which will help you to stay in shape.

Cook steaming. Steamed food (rice, fish, meat and vegetables) is not only fast to prepare, but also tasty and useful. It preserves more vitamins and minerals than food cooked using other methods.

Season with lemon juice. If you sprinkle your meat, fish and seafood with a little bit of fresh lemon juice, it will help to break down fats and increase absorption of iron.

Keep balance. Make sure that the food ratio is 40:60. That means 40% of your diet should consist of fresh vegetables and greens, and 60% – of heat-treated products. This will help to boost immunity and improve the digestive tract.

Say “No” to fat sauces. You should completely refuse sauces that you can by in the store, like ketchup and mayonnaise. This way you will reduce obesity, cancer and cardiovascular disease risk.
