Most people do not survive a single day without a cup of coffee or tea, and only some of them drink these beverages with milk. According to Canadian researchers, milk is what can keep your teeth white if you drink a lot of coffee or tea. They claim that milk can be much more useful than some whitening products.
As we know, tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world. The way tea is processed has an impact on how it affects our teeth color. The more tea is processed, the stronger are their coloring properties.
The researchers found that drinking tea with milk reduces tooth staining. Tea contains tannins – a dark-colored water-soluble substances that provide tea a bitter taste and color-characterized properties. Casein, a major milk protein, binds tannins and prevents teeth coloring. Canadian scientists have made some experiments.. The results showed that milk casein obviously reduces staining effect of tannins.
