Food that protects against wrinkles

Many scientific researches have showed that certain nutrients help to maintain cells that are responsible for healthy and firm skin. Here are some tips that you should use in order to take proper care of your skin.

Every time you eat, half of your plate should be occupied by vegetables or fruits. These products contain antioxidants, vitamins and minerals which cleanse your body from toxins and free radicals that can damage your skin. They also contain vitamin C which is important for production of collagen.

Vegetables and fruits can be mixed with nuts, various seeds and grains, sprinkle some olive oil. Nuts and grains are rich in vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant. Olive oil protects your skin from the sun damage which usually leads to new wrinkles.

A quarter of your plate should consist of lean protein products. For example, fish, poultry, beans and lentils. They are rich in proteins that help for renewal of your skin cells.

The remaining quarter of the plate should be grain products. Choose wheat flour pasta, brown or wild rice and full grain bread. These products contain lots of nutrients that are necessary if want to have beautiful skin. They also contain fiber which helps to control blood sugar. Cereals also contain selenium and zinc which are necessary to produce collagen and fight against free radicals.
