This is related to gamma-aminobutyric acid, a key neurotransmitter, which participates in central inhibition processes. It also activates brain processes and make blood circulation intensify.
Full-grain bread. Bread from white flour is quickly digested and injected. This promotes blood sugar level jumping, so the adrenal glands produce more stress hormones. If you experience stress, eat wholegrain bread.
Walking barefoot. Walking on a grass or carpet stimulates points in the feet, which send a signal to the brain that you need dopamine, a hormone that has sedative effects. According to the researchers, this kind of foot massage helps to reduce the effects of stress as much as 33%.
Sports. The researchers claim that a few minutes of physical strain stimulates production of serotonin and noradrenaline (two hormones responsible for improving your mood. It helps your mind to remain clear in stressful situations, so before starting to get nervous or angry, it is better to do some jogging.
Nuts. According to the researchers, nuts is a great source of magnesium (a natural tranquilizer). A handful of nuts will reduce anxiety and improve the quality of your sleep.
