According to statistics, about 30% of adults suffer from insomnia. In most cases this happens due to the fault of inadequate way of life that causes chronic fatigue and stress. So how to overcome insomnia and help your body to a rest? Here are some tips.
Think about positive things. Try to forget or at least stop thinking for a while about everything that caused tension and stress. In general, try to forget your worries and concentrate your thoughts to your dreams.
Have a bath. Take a nice bath, but make sure that water is not very hot. You can add some relaxing salts, but make sure it doesn’t last for more than 15 minutes. After bathing, you should immediately go to sleep.
Drink milk. About 2 hours before sleep, you should not use any nervous system stimulants: coffee, tea or alcohol. You should not smoke either. Have a glass of milk instead. Milk has effect on synthesis of melatonin which ensures good night sleep.
Take a walk in the fresh air. Doctors say that fresh air and small physical activities help to fall asleep quicker. When you go for a walk, do not forget to leave a window of your room open, so you sleep in a nice and fresh room.
Try aromatherapy. Lavender, chamomile and orange essential oils are the best to cope with stress and they help to relax. Change your essential oils from time to time, so your body doesn’t get used to the same ones.
