What to eat and drink to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful

Oral hygiene is not the only important thing to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful. What we eat and drink has a significant impact on our teeth health. Some products can effectively fight against bacteria produced acids.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber, which effectively cleans teeth and stimulates production of saliva, neutralizing harmful acids and water. This helps to reduce negative impact of sweets.

Water. It is the main ingredient of saliva. It is necessary if you want to keep your teeth healthy. Do not forget to wash your mouth with water after each meal.

The benefits of sugar free dairy products are amazing. Such products are rich in calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D. For example, cheese stimulates productions of saliva and helps to replenish reserves of minerals.

Sugar free chewing gum also stimulates production of saliva and helps to clean your mouth after eating. It usually contains xylitol which helps to fight tooth decay.

Black and green tea has lots of polyphenols which inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Nuts are rich in vitamins and minerals that are necessary for healthy teeth.

Food to avoid:

• Carbonated beverages;

• Products that dries out mouth cavity;

• Sweets;

• Dried fruits (they can be used in moderation as they have lots of sugar);

• Starchy foods;

• Citrus fruits juice. Fruits acids have negative impact on teeth health.
