Omega-3 fatty acids
Fish contains all necessary fatty acids, which protect eyes from drying out and senile macular degeneration. As shown by scientific research, people who eat fish regularly are 50 percent less likely to have macular degeneration. You should eat fish at least 1-2 times a week. Give priority to sardines, salmon, herring and tuna.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is produced under the skin, exposed to sunlight, but you can also find it in fatty fish, fish oil, beef liver, egg yolks, cheese and some mushrooms.

Blueberries, blackberries, and black currants are rich in antioxidants, which maintain the cornea of the eye and cardiovascular health, and reduce the risks of cataracts and macular degeneration.
Zeaxanthin
Zeaxanthin is a substance which comes in a dark green vegetables (like broccoli, spinach, lettuce, turnips, kohlrabi). It is also very useful for the eyes and for preventing macular degeneration.
Bioflavonoids
Bioflavonoids can be found in tea, citrus fruits, berries, red wine, etc. These substances protect against cataracts and macular degeneration. Products that contain bioflavonoids, should be really considered to be incorporated into the daily diet.
