Chocolate. Good news for everybody who loves sweets – cocoa is very beneficial for your heart. Organic compounds called flavonoids which cocoa contains, reduce the levels of cholesterol in the blood and improves blood circulation. Experts recommend eating chocolate that contains at least 70-75 percent of cocoa. This one contains more flavonoids.

Walnuts. These nuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids which lower cholesterol levels and reduce risk of getting heart diseases. Some researchers say that walnuts are the healthiest nuts and they contain twice more antioxidants than peanuts or almonds.

Olive oil. A research made in France has concluded that people who use olive oil reduce the chance of getting a stroke by 41 percent. Daily usage of olive oil makes our skin and hair healthier.

Apples. Apples are one of the healthiest fruits and one of the best one for your heart. They contain phenolic acids which prevent formation of thrombi. They also reduce the levels of cholesterol and reduce the risk of developing heart diseases.

Whole grains. Foods that contain whole grains (oatmeal, wholemeal bread, etc.) reduce the risk of developing heart diseases, regulate cholesterol levels and improve digestion.
