Food that can change your mood

Did you know that sadness can be killed by eating fish? This happens because of omega 3 fatty acids as they are involved in hormone metabolism, help to maintain emotional resilience and fight against depression.

Hormones of happiness can be found in chocolate and oats. Many sportsmen start their morning with a bowl of oatmeal as it gives them energy to start they day happy.

If you want to get rid of stress, eat red bell pepper. It contains a substance which is similar to hormone cortisone which regulates nervous tension.

Starchy foods reduce the level of adrenaline. So if you want to calm down, eat potatoes.

The best products to increase the mood are strawberries and raspberries. If you eat them with sour cream you can be sure your mood will change immediately.

Bananas, tomatoes, avocados, grapefruits and green apples have effects of antidepressants.

Bananas also have alkaloid carmine which is also called “drug of happiness”. If you are excited or worried, bananas will calm you down.

If you feel sad, you need vitamins E, D and beta-carotene, also products that contains selenium. Selenium works as antioxidant and stimulates production of a special enzyme that breaks down and removes oxidants from the body. For this reason some scientists believe that selenium is essential to prevent depression. The best sources of selenium are oats, mushrooms, walnuts, asparagus, courgettes, custard squash and celery.
