Should we really drink a glass of water before each meal?

Eveybody is asking, so is it good or not to drink a glass of water before each meal. Yes, a glass of water before meals is definitely recommended. However, there are couple of myths regarding it which we will deny in this article.

Myth 1. A cup of water with lemon in the morning increases metabolism and it is recommended for a good start of the day.

Probably not one person rushes to the kitchen to drink water each morning. And they make sure to add some lemon juice. Most people think that this morning drink helps them out to remove all accumulated toxins from the body, awaken the body, purify the blood, rejuvenate the skin, and they believe that the digestive tract after drinking water works much better. Others believe that the more alkaline products are consumed, the faster you can lose weight, because water with lemon improves metabolism. But how is everything in reality?

Nutritionists advise drinking room temperature water in the morning. Water with lemon in the morning is not suitable because it is acidic, which can damage the stomach. Those who suffer from various stomach diseases should really refuse this drink in the morning.

Myth 2. During the day we have to drink at least 2 liters of water.

Our body is composed of water, so there is no secret that it needs water. It is argued that the human body contains as much as 70-75 percent of the water, so water is vital for us.

It is known that human body on average loses from 1 to 1.5 liters of water every day. If a person tends to sweat, the loss of the water content increases, it means that you should drink more water to restore the missing water balance in the body.

How much water a person needs to drink a day is very individual. It also depends on its activity, body weight, and a variety of other factors, such as the season.

Thus, the claim that we have to drink at least 2 liters of water a day is not quite correct. How much water you should drink depends on the person individually. Also, do not forget to monitor your urine color. If your urine is dark, you need to drink more.
