Is vegetarianism really healthy?
 

Most of the people choose their life without meat not because of humanity but because of another popular belief claiming that vegetarianism protects their health. However, is it really healthy?

According to doctors, vegetarianism that consists of vegetable products is not very healthy because vegetables don’t give us all necessary materials. It is much healthier to eat according to vegetarianism mixed with eggs and dairy products. In this way, our body receives required doses of protein and calcium. Vitamin B12 is also not found in vegetable foods.


However, vegetarians have less cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, kidney stones cases and urinary bladder problems. Vegetables and fruits that are usually eaten by vegetarians are rich in vitamins and minerals that strengthen our immune system and protect against cancer. In addition, plant foods are rich in phytoncides that improve human’s digestive tract, cleanse the body and do not contain cholesterol.

One of the most important things about vegetarianism is that includes grains that are rich in vegetable protein, nutrients and minerals, Vitamin B and Vitamin E. After some research it has been found that oats and barley grains lower cholesterol levels, which is very important in trying to prevent atherosclerosis. Vegetarian diets also include different kinds of nuts that also have lots of vitamins and minerals. It has been also found that they are rich in valuable unsaturated fatty acids that reduce cholesterol levels.

To sum up, greasy meat contains lots of cholesterol and its intake is one of the factors leading to atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction. In addition, before making its way into the pan, many of us tend to process the meat in various ways what does not always has a positive effect on our health. Medical experts highly recommend replacing meat with fish in order to receive proteins, vitamins, minerals, as well as polyunsaturated fatty acids that are essential to protect against cardiovascular disease and hypertension
