Healthy diet is amazing. Many of us can significantly improve our quality of life by giving a little more attention to what we eat. However, everything has to be done in moderation. Some people desire to make healthy eating simply absurd. Then it turns into obsession and life essence. Such a condition is called orthorexia nervous. Orthorexia is an excessive concern of the quality of the food we eat.

Such people can be called a healthy diet addicts. Their obsession progress rapidly and slowly replaces all other needs. It may even worsen relations with other people. Often, this condition is even physically dangerous. Orthorexia is treated as anorexia and bulimia.

Anorexia – a voluntary refusal of food in order to lose weight. Bulimia is characterized as overeating followed by a desire to get rid of all the food eaten. Both of these disorders can have adverse health consequences. Orthorexia is categorized in the same group of diseases like bulimia and anorexia. The difference is that person suffering from anorexia nervosa is too concerned about the amount of food he or she has eaten, and the most important thing for orthorexic is food quality.

This is not less dangerous. Sometimes what orthorexics eat is simply an absurd. There are people who only eat sprouted grains and sprouts salad with water. This can cause changes in hormone balance. A man believes his actions are absolutely correct, though in reality this can lead to serious illnesses.

As with other eating disorders, the problem lies in human psychology. The man hates himself and therefore, decides to punish his body for imperfections. They feel a need to control every situation in their lives. In addition, they criticize others for “inappropriate” way of life and demonstrate their superiority.

In order to recuperate, first of all, people have to realize that they have a problem. The rest depends on their health status and individual characteristics. However, few are able solve this problem alone. It is better to go to a psychologist who will determine the actual cause of the problem.

In any case, it is important to remember that to solve the problem within a day or a week is practically impossible. So get ready for a long road.
