Normally, the word “diet” associates with a strict regulation of food and calories trying to seek a final result – desirable body shape in a short period of time. The sad fact is that such calculation helps us to lose weight only for a very short time and it becomes very hard to keep it stable in the future. So, instead of making our bodies suffer from special diets, we should pay attention to the endless rule of weight-loss which is very simple: confidence and a pleasant activity. Only in this case way of life helps to achieve results we all desire.

To get rid of some pounds, firstly we need to start choosing food wisely. After a while it becomes obvious that even though you eat as much as you want, you are not gaining weight and feel a great pleasure in eating.

The second simple secret – eat often, 5-8 times a day, but little by little. You should enjoy your food by eating it slowly and chewing properly every bite.

Drink 6-8 glasses of water during a day. You should drink a glass of water before every meal because it will help you to decrease your hunger more quickly.

Eat less fat. You should get less than 30% calories from fat daily and most of them should be the ones got from vegetables. That’s because this amount of fat won’t be absorbed and it won’t be harmful for the body. The other amount of calories you should get from various good balanced and having nutritional value food – vegetables, fruits and whole grains.

Reducing fat flavorings (butter, mayonnaise, salad dressings) or fat used for frying is also very important. Avoid fatty snacks (potato chips, corns fried in oil, etc), instead of a greasy meat, eat lean, such as poultry and fish.

Remember that alcohol drinks will awaken your appetite and it has many calories. For example, with a 0.3 liter mug of beer you will get about 150 calories.

Scientists have found carbohydrates are the ones that are consumed for body’s energy primarily and it is a myth that they turn into fat. Only if you get more than 500 grams of carbohydrates, body will turn them into fat. However, 500 grams of carbohydrate is approximately one loaf of bread.

Keep in mind that:
1 gram carbohydrate = 4 kilocalories
1 gram protein = 4 kilocalories
1 gram fat = 9 kilocalories.

The final rule – keep your food diary and write down what you eat. It will help you to clear out the amount of food you get each day and help you improve your diet.
