The consequences of long-term fasting

A well-balanced diet can do wonders and radically change people’s appearance and health. However, the extreme measures such as long-term fasting may interfere with your health or do a great damage for your appearance. Here are the most common issues that you may have to deal with:

  • Depression and anxiety.Unbalanced or very low-calorie diet can affect your ability to think, concentrate, learn and work. It can provoke anxiety, depression, insomnia, irritability and nervousness.
  • A weak immune system. When a body lacks nutrients, it becomes too weak to withstand a variety of viral and bacterial attacks. The consequences can belong-lasting.
  • Increased risk of stroke. A lack of all necessary nutrients can easily lead to heart problems. Diets that promise very quick loss of weight cannot be good for your body and especially your health. Usually you only lose liquids which quickly return, instead of actual fat. Fast and high body weight changes cause arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm).
