It’s quite difficult to stay healthy while spending most of your day sitting. Generally a person must make at least 10,000 steps each day. But what if you need to spend 8 hours sitting at your desk? Here are some tips that will help you to stay healthy.

Make a break for a walk

It’s not easy but very important to do that. Your muscles do not while you’re sitting and that is not good. Every 30 minutes stand up and walk a bit at least in your office. These walks should last for at least couple of minutes.

Choose a comfortable chair

If you have to sit for 8 hours, at least have a comfortable chair with a backrest. Make sure you can always lean on.

Sleep well at night

Everyone knows that sleep is necessary for strong immune system, energy, beauty and so on. Most importantly, if you sleep enough you will be able to concentrate on your work much better.

Drink plenty of water

Water is a source of life. Therefore, don’t forget to drink enough of it – at least 8 glasses per day. Water is necessary for you physical and mental abilities, so always keep a bottle of water with you.

Let your eyes relax

Lighting is very important, especially if you work with computer. If your workplace is not close to the window, make sure to have an appropriate lighting. Also don’t forget to take your eyes off the computer periodically and change the viewing point. Then your eyes will not get tired so quickly.

Wash your hands frequently

You should frequently wash your hands at work. Bacteria are everywhere: on your desktop, computer keyboard, telephone and in the office in general. Especially if you have constant contact with other people.

Eat healthy

Proper nutrition is what you need if you want to stay healthy. Make sure to get all necessary vitamins and antioxidants. Always have some healthy snacks, like nuts or sunflower seeds. It will help you to add nutrients to your diet.
